“Hatikosu” from Russia: drowned in the river and waited for his owner on the shore for four days

The story of a dog who waited for his owner for four days and drowned on the beach in Bashkortostan (Russia) has shocked everyone.

Oku.AzAccording to news.ru, the incident took place on November 24 in the village of Garaidel. A local resident tried to cross the thin ice of the Ufa River on a bicycle to get home via a shorter route. Unfortunately, the ice failed and the man fell into the water and drowned. His dog Belka, who was with him, faithfully waited for her owner and did not leave the scene of the tragedy for four days.

The villagers were impressed by the dog’s loyalty and tried to take him away, but Belka escaped and returned to the river.

“Belka is a very kind dog. Now we have seen how loyal she is. This story breaks our hearts,” said one of the villagers.

After a rescue operation that lasted four days, the man’s body was found at a depth of seven meters and brought to the surface before Belka’s eyes.

Belka’s loyalty reminded many people of the legendary Japanese dog “Hatiko”. Hatiko went down in history, waiting for her late owner at the station for 9 years.
