National Police officers arrested Grenade to a father and a son, a minor, who locked up the latter’s intellectually disabled half-brother for weeks to look after and work in their illegal marijuana plantations.
The operation was carried out in the northern district of the capital and resulted in the seizure of more than 400 plants, as well as around twenty cuttings and a compressed air gun, among others. However, those allegedly responsible for the plantation are faced not only with drug trafficking and electricity fraud, but, more seriously, with illegal detention of a family member.
The so-called Operation Damascus began when the national police received a complaint about the kidnapping.for weeks and repeatedly” of an intellectually disabled person “who was locked up against his will and under threats in several apartments that they had set up for the cultivation of marijuana on a large scale”. Those allegedly responsible for these kidnappings were his father and a minor brother.
The investigation confirmed the complaints and allowed the location of four apartments in the northern area of Granada, including the property where the father lived, where his other minor children also live. In another, the detained minor and half-brother of the victim was “in such unsanitary conditions that he was inhabited by cockroaches and other insects of all kinds.
The National Police reported that the parent, who criminal recordhas already been made available to the judicial authority, which ordered his imprisonment. The officers also reported the minor’s detention to the juvenile prosecutor’s office.
