The town of Paiporta is completely isolated and could have “dozens” of deaths following the damage suffered in the Valencian Community this Tuesday. This was told to EFE by the mayor of the town, Maribel Albalat, who maintained that she did not want to give the exact number of deaths because those given to her “dance”.
Albalat explained that currently “the town of Paiporta – about ten kilometers southwest of Valencia – is isolated, nothing works” and they have no “water”, adding that they were trying “to open channels of communication. She is at the command post alongside the Civil Guard and the EMU, whose troops are “working to prioritize the care of the wounded,” a few, as she put it.
“There are dozens of deaths in Paiporta. They give me figures but the figures fluctuate and I prefer not to say an exact figure,” detailed the mayor. He indicated that people who cannot locate their loved ones in Paiporta should go to the Civil Guard headquarters on Calle Calamocha, Valencia. “But don’t be afraid, Paiporta is incommunicado. People are organizing but there is no communication,” he concluded.

The Generalitat has activated the telephone number 900 365 112 to help relatives of missing people. Authorities are asking that this phone number be reserved only to provide information about this family member who cannot be contacted. For emergencies, the number is always 112.
