He saw the police and came down from the second floor

A man who attempted to burglarize a house using the climbing method, which consists of climbing the facades to access windows and balconies and thus enter the house, ended up going down from a second floor with suicidal intentions. What started as a robbery ended with several National Police officers saving the thief’s life. The agents had to access the terrace where he jumped from a construction site scaffolding, because the individual’s fall into the void was imminent. Their rapid response helped avert a tragic outcome.

The events occurred in the early hours of November 19, when officers were called by CIMACC room 091 because there was an individual trying to access a house located on the third floor after climbing onto scaffolding. Once there, the police spotted a man perched on scaffolding who, after noticing the police presence, fled by jumping onto the terrace of an unoccupied house located on the second floor.

After being cornered, this person suddenly went over the guardrail and threatened to jump if the officers did not leave the scene. At some point, the thief lost his strength, leaving his entire body hanging towards the street, with only one hand hanging on the terrace railing.

It was then that the agents, seeing that his life was in serious danger, decided to jump from the scaffolding to the terrace, managing to catch him and bring him there, preventing him from falling into the void. . Eventually, he was arrested as a suspected perpetrator of the crime of forceful robbery and then brought to trial.

The ladder method can also be carried out from terraces or interior patios due to their poor visibility. To do this, the National Police recommends keeping windows and balconies closed whenever the accommodation is left alone.
