The man barricaded himself this afternoon for several hours in a building in Bilbao after attacking his parents with a knife, finally jumped into the void and was transferred to a hospital, according to the Basque Department of Security. The individual had already injured both his parents with a knife in a house located on Avenida de San Adrián, in Bilbao. The events occurred in the middle of the afternoon and after injuring his parents, who were able to leave the house by themselves and were taken to the hospital, he barricaded himself in the place where members of the Ertzaintza, the municipal police and firefighters moved, who cut off traffic in the area.
The alleged perpetrator of the events is the same individual who, in the morning, drove his vehicle from the parking lot of Loiu airport on a slope of about three or four meters and left the scene. After the accident, the driver disappeared, leaving the car abandoned, so they began their search.
Once he barricaded himself in the building and threatened to jump, Ertzaintza negotiated with him for several hours and placed a mat on him, but he finally jumped into the void and was transferred to the hospital as a detainee. The individual is being investigated for an alleged crime of attempted homicide.
