THE National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) proposed this Wednesday that the prices that operators pay to Phone to use your infrastructure increase by 20%. In this case, the CNMC proposes an increase of almost 20% on average, taking into account factors such as the cost of capital, the useful life of civil engineering infrastructure or their state of depreciation, following the Recommendation of the European Commissionof February 6, 2024, on the promotion through regulation of connectivity of Gigabits.
CNMC on Telefónica
On the other hand, for non-recurring fees (registration fees and similar costs payable only once for each application), the CNMC’s proposal would be to revise the fees upwards by 11% to “offset the increase in costs labor since 2021,” the date on which these prices were last established.
The CNMC’s proposal is now the subject of a one-month public consultation process to gather the opinions of organizations, operators of electronic communications or sector associations, among others.
