The DANA which devastated the province of Malaga this Tuesday and which is still continuing caused its first deathalthough indirectly. It concerns a 71-year-old man who was rescued by emergency services, but who ultimately lost his life in hospital.

This was confirmed this Wednesday by the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Morenowho visited the area affected in Álora by the floods, where up to 176 liters fell in a few hours, causing all kinds of damage.

“There was a deceased having had previous pathologies like hemiplegia. “He was an elderly person who was rescued and taken to the hospital, but due to the cold, hypothermia and the shock he suffered, he died in the hospital,” lamented Moreno, who is awaiting further information.

In total, Moreno clarified that 450 incidents were recorded in 24 hours and a total of 100 people were rescued in the province of Malaga by DANA, 13 of which had to be relocated.
