Health asks to “remove” Muface and that the public system take care of 1.5 million civil servants in nine months

Health Ministry wants to terminate Muface now. The department headed by Mónica García has prepared a report in which it analyzes the current possibilities of this model after the refusal of insurers to attend the new concert.

“The current context means that, for the first time in many years, the possibility of integrating the mutualist population into the public health system constitutes an option that is both viable and reasonable,” details the analysis. Thus, the ministry proposes that the 1.5 million civil servants who use mutual insurance move to the public system after a nine-month extension of the current agreement.

Currently, the government has two options. The first is to try to improve the offer of the next concert so that the insurance companies are present. The second is extend for nine months the current agreement, as permitted by the Public Sector Contracts Act, and meet the transit Muface mutualists in the provision of health services by the National Health System.

Health advocates the second. Actually, made a plan to make this transition. During the nine-month extension, “progressive incorporation stratified by the first letter of the first name, age and service insurer could be considered,” the report states.
