Hearings against Haniyeh at the ICC

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has announced the dismissal of the case against Hamas Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh over his death.

This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

The decision came after ICC prosecutors withdrew their request for Haniya’s arrest in light of new circumstances. At the same time, the court did not decide to dismiss the case against the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organisation, Mohammed Deif, who was also eliminated by Israel.

This is probably because the chief prosecutor does not have enough evidence to confirm his death and withdraw the petition against him.

As previously reported, the ICC’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, is demanding that arrest warrants be issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant. In an interview with the BBC, Khan said he had sufficient evidence to substantiate these claims and expressed satisfaction that the British government had withdrawn its objections to the move.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that British lawyers representing Israel’s interests had warned of the possibility of suspending International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan’s investigation into arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) has written to Khan, accusing him of breaching both ICC rules and the UK Lawyers Code of Conduct by issuing these orders.
