The University of Jaén (UJA) has scheduled a total of 70 activities on the occasion of the upcoming celebration September 27 of the European Researchers’ Night 2024), the most important scientific dissemination event at the Andalusian and national level, which will be held in Jaén and Linares, organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I) of the Vice-Rectorate for Communication and Territorial Development.

This informative event, promoted by the European Commission As part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions of the Horizon Europe programme, it will once again have its headquarters in the capital of Jaen. Plaza de El Corte Inglés, the old school of education, the Cathedral of Jaén, the Museum of Jaén and the Iberian Museum in the capital of Jaen, while in Linares it will be held at Linarejos Walk.

As usual, there will be last Friday of September, being celebrated at the same time in more than 370 cities from all over Europe, consolidating itself as the most important simultaneous event in the Andalusian scientific field and one of the largest in Spain. For its development, the event will have the participation of more than 400 researchers, who will disseminate their research work in the 70 face-to-face activities that will be developed within the framework workshops, micro-meetings, shows or guided tours.

The program of activities will begin on Friday, September 27 at 5 p.m. In the Plaza de El Corte Inglés in Jaén, where the Science fair, which will include a total of 27 workshops.

For his part, the Ibero Museum of Jaen will house a total of 5 workshops and the Jaén Museum 5 others. On the other hand, the old Jaén Pedagogical School will host a total of 12 micro-meetings, as well as 6 workshops and the Final Gala, during which the XIV ‘Universidad de Jaén’ Prize for Scientific Dissemination will be awarded and the show ‘Voices of Iberian Women’ will be presented by the Teatro La Paca, aimed at all types of audiences. All these activities will be completed in Jaén with a guided tour of the Cathedral of Jaén.

Regarding the city of Linares, as a novelty this year Linarejos promenade This will be the seat that will host a micro-meeting and eleven workshops, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. In addition to these activities, this edition will also include the organization of a exhibition on “Energy communities: the missing link in Smart Grids”.

In the province of Jaén, they are many entities who collaborate in this event: Jaén City Council, Linares City Council, Jaén Provincial Council, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Jaén Cathedral, Caja Rural de Jaén, La Caixa and El Corte Inglés.
