Heritage Night fills the streets of Cordoba with culture and leisure

This Saturday night will not be forgotten. The Heritage evening kept the culture and pleasure of the city alive at street level with a good number of monuments and museums open, and at that time many people got a new, very fresh pleasure from the two concerts that took place in the capital.

Because the Arena vibrated with Melendiwho delighted his fans with the most popular songs of his “20 years without news”: “With the full moon”, “With just a smile” and “From my window” were some of the most celebrated songs at the Coso de la Califes. The show coincided with the performance of Ara Malikien inside Axerquia Theaterwhere he told new stories, those of an “Intruder”, himself, who finally managed to reconcile himself with his multicultural identity.

For its part, Heritage Night included a very varied agenda offering both the possibility of visiting the city’s museums and monuments for free until midnight and shows, in the street or indoors.

So, the Mosque-Cathedral It could be visited between 7:00 p.m. and midnight; Medina Azahara, the Synagogue and the Museums of Archaeology and Fine Arts from 8:00 p.m. to midnight, and the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs, the Caliphate Baths of the Alcazar, the Bullfighting Museum and the Posada del Potro from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

One of the most special shows took place at the Orive Roomfrom 8:00 pm, under the title “A place to dance in progress”, featuring two international dancers. They were the dancer and choreographer Poliana Lima and the Afro-English dancer Yinka Esi Graves, who will show that dance is a cultural and artistic expression capable of defending the cultural legacies and lineages of African history.

A complete agenda

He Archaeological Museum of Cordoba, for its part, offered a very complete program from 8:00 p.m., with very varied theater and music. First, there was a monologue on historical figures entitled “The Museum speaks to you”. From 9:30 p.m., there was a concert by the string quartet of the Ziryab Conservatory of Professional Musicians, while at 10:30 p.m., the art of flamenco was honored, with a recital by Luis Dávila and Cristian de Moret.

Inside Museum of Fine Arts The shows began at 9:00 p.m. with a concert of baroque music by Rafael Muñoz-Torrero, on the baroque violin, and Aníbal Soriano on the theorbo. This was followed by a very different musical genre: jazz, with a recital featuring the Nat Ruciero Trio.

Furthermore, the history Potro Square It was, outside or inside its cultural centers, one of the most frequented places. At 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the show ‘The Dream of Julio Romero de Torres’ was scheduled. And at 9:00 p.m., the play ‘The Innkeeper’, by Carlo Goldoni, began.

And there was no shortage of bets on The Axerquia: because the Plaza de San Agustín hosted the first of the events at 7:00 p.m., entitled “A collage of heritage”: it requested participation to create a collective work, but it will be done in a limited way.
