The leadership of the Shiite movement Hezbollah confirmed on Friday, September 20, the death of one of its commanders, Ibrahim Aqil, as a result of an Israeli missile attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
“Ibrahim Aqeel joined his brother commanders who died after a blessed life of sacrifice, effort, challenge, success and victory.” — Tasnim news agency quotes the group as saying on its Telegram channel.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), other senior Hezbollah leaders belonging to the Radwan forces, a special unit within the Lebanese group, were also killed in the attack.
