Hezbollah pager explosions: Reuters published investigation results

In February of this year, a batch of pagers arrived in Lebanon. The devices were modified to hide 6 grams of plastic explosive next to the battery, whose power was increased with a chemical, making the charge equivalent to 40 grams.

This is reported by the Reuters news agency.

The built-in detonator was activated by a flammable substance and the plastic casing allowed the pagers to pass through scanners at Beirut airport. Mossad falsified AR-924 documents to deceive Hezbollah terrorists and sold the pagers at a reduced price.

The operation was activated on September 17 via text message and killed 39 people and injured 3,400.

As previously reported, a spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps told the New York Times that the Hezbollah terrorists’ pagers rang seconds before the explosion. He noted that the signal rang for about 10 seconds, giving users the opportunity to hold the devices in front of their faces and read the message.

Previously, Kursor wrote that after a successful attack on pagers used by Hezbollah militants, Israeli military experts and generals emphasized the need to seize the strategic moment to completely destroy the group.

Major General Yeftah Ron Tal, in an interview with 103FM radio, called for active action against Hezbollah, noting that Israel now has a unique opportunity that cannot be wasted.

Additionally, Cursor has already reported that the Israeli operation to destroy thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah terrorists has sparked active debate among cybersecurity experts. Vitaly Yakushev, a specialist in this field, believes that the explosions were the result of careful preparation, during which hardware and software were introduced into the devices.
