High electoral mood in the village of Kokhnigishlaq, located on the border with Armenia

Extraordinary parliamentary elections are being held in border villages and across the country with great activity. One of our border villages, which has been under fire from the Armenian armed forces for a long time and has faced provocations from time to time, is the Khokhnigishlaq village of Aghstafa. The inhabitants of this ancient village were persecuted and attacked by the Armenians not only during the First Karabakh War, but also at the beginning of the last century. However, despite all the difficulties, the inhabitants lived and built in their ancestral homes and did not leave their native lands for a moment.

AZERTAC reports that the village of Kokhnigishlaq on the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border is located 700-800 meters above sea level. The distance to the district center is about 22 kilometers. This village was under fire for a long time. The Armenians tried to prevent residents from doing their daily work by occasionally provoking. However, despite this, the inhabitants of Eskigişlaq, who always take an active part in the processes of social and political life of our country, have not left their village for a single day.

After the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country, the mood of the residents of the border village also improved. Now the residents of Kokhnigishlaq are proud like all citizens of the country.

The residents engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry are currently going about their daily work. Sahreddin Huseynov, a resident of the village, says that although it was difficult before, things are now good: “The mood of the community is very high. Everyone is trying to participate in the vote as one. Our village is a very old village. In 1905-1907 it was attacked and burned down. The community fled, in 1917-1918 similar events began. But this time no one lived under the fire.

Residents say that they suffered a lot from the war and had to live under bullets. Today, under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar, after the victory of our army in Karabakh, life has returned to normal in the border village. Now there is calm in this border village. “The enemy always caused serious damage to our village. Today it is no longer like that. It cannot be compared to the previous life. Now it is more beautiful. Despite the many difficulties we faced in the past, our President brought us back to the border village. “At the moment elections are being held and the inhabitants are actively participating in the elections,” added Elshan Orujov, a resident of the village.

The infrastructure necessary for living in the village of Kokhnigishlaq has been built, the village has gas, electricity and internet. The roads are also paved with asphalt. In a word, residents now think only about the farms in their backyards. Just a stone’s throw from their homes, there are heroic sons guarding the land of the Motherland.

In the village of Kokhnigishlaq, there is a polling station No. 15 of the Election Commission of the Agstafa district No. 108. The district has 400 voters and the voting process is ongoing. The district chairman Shahadat Gurbanov said that among the registered voters there are 9 voters who have the right to vote for the first time. 17 people are over 80 years old.

In a word, the people of Kokhnigishlaq village are now in a better mood. They constantly pray to our border guards who guard our lands and protect the border.
