Media reports are reporting the death of a high-ranking Iranian officer, Hamid Mazandrani, who was serving as commander of the Nineveh Brigade of the Revolutionary Guard’s Quds Force.

According to information from Iran, the incident occurred during an “operational exercise” near the city of Saravan, in Golestan province.
Mazandrani was aboard a small plane that crashed, killing him and the aircraft’s pilot.
