Oscar PuenteMinister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, spoke at COPE to take stock of the situation of road and rail services after DANA from Valencia. The socialist, in his speech, indicated what is expected of the work which, little by little, is bearing fruit in terms of communications and the repair of large infrastructures.
And he also gave important news regarding the Cercanías lines: “The damage to C3 is very serious. In C1 and C2 there is an important section that can be used. We will put these two lines into service in these sections, and from there we will put into service 60 coaches to connect the center of Valencia through them”.
“Before Christmas, lottery daythe idea is that they are you have already completed C1 and C2and we will have C5 and C6 ready. As for C3, let it extend at least as far as Aldaia. From then until the end, we will have to spend months rebuilding,” he said.
The N.330, already open this morning
Concerning the state of the roads, he made an important nuance: “In a very short period of time, the situation of major infrastructures will be normalized… but that of internal communication will take a long time. Everything is very bad there. . I transferred Mazón and the advisor. Recruitment processes need to be streamlinedand that the law on emergency contracts be applied.”
And the major roads, according to Puente, are on the right track: “We are on the A-7, where we are building the bypass, we have taken a temporary step for the passage of soldiers and emergency services. By dawn at the latest, we will open the N-330. As for the A-3, it is closed to the south by a viaduct which collapsed. We tried to build an alternative path which we are already paving. “On this small section, around 200 or 300 meters, the speed will be limited to 50 kilometers per hour.”
“There would be 322, which is bad. We are also trying to rebuild another area where a bridge fell. This is all the government’s responsibility. It will be operational this week. There are many things to correct. Potholes, defects… They do not hinder traffic, but they are not in optimal conditions. The biggest task is the A-7 viaduct. “We have to rebuild it… but it will take months,” the minister commented.
“The mud will generate problems different from those we know”
Now the big problem: “There’s a lot of cleanup waiting, and the mud… Little by little it driesand this will generate problems of a different type from those we know. But this is where we are, distributing tasks and gradually returning to normality. »
“We have our own road, ADIF, Renfe, maritime rescue… They showed me footage of a special operations team in Albuera searching for someone in the area. And we also have the operation of private companies with which we work and contract,” concluded Puente.
