Lopez Pita graduated in Philosophy and Letters (1975) and in Semitic Philology (Arabic and Islam) (1993) from the Complutense University of MadridIn 1986 he obtained his doctorate from UNED after completing his doctoral thesis. ‘Layos, origin and development of a medieval lordship’directed by Eloy Benito Ruano.
Their research have focused, fundamentally, on the study of seigneurial regime at the end of medieval Castileas well as in the knowledge of historiography and socio-cultural aspects of medieval Islamic societysubjects to which he has devoted various research works and on which he has given numerous courses and conferences.
She was a full professor in the Department of Medieval History and Historiographical Sciences and Techniques. of the National University of Distance Learning until 2021. She was also director of this department (2004-2012), as well as national coordinator of the UNED tutor professors (1991-1993). Between 2005-2012 and 2015-2016, he directed the summer courses organized at the UNED Associated Center in the city of Ávila.
