H&M agrees with unions on ERA that reduces layoffs to 492

The final agreement on the labor regulation file (ERE), which will ultimately concern 492 people at H&M, was reached with the companies UGT and CCOO, as union sources informed Europa Press on Friday.

Concretely, it was this Thursday, October 17 that the UGT and CCOO unions signed the agreement for the collective dismissal process at H&M, which began on September 17.

Thus, the two unions emphasize that this agreement was possible thanks to “priority” objectives that they proposed, which involved minimizing the initial impact, vacancies with more days than those initially offered by the company, as well as volunteering and “good” conditions for leaving the company for those ultimately affected, thus avoiding “traumatic” outings.

The company’s final terms proposed to settle the ERE negotiations include reducing its impact to 492 workers, from the 588 redundancies initially proposed, which it later managed to reduce to 521 until the final number.

In the proposal, the company places the compensation of those affected between 45 and 33 days per year worked within the limit of 24 monthly payments, which includes a seniority bonus. Concretely, this will be 2,500 euros for up to five years, 3,500 euros for up to 10 years and 4,500 euros for those who have been in the company for more than 10 years.

This also includes the possibility of exchange – change between the people concerned who wish to stay in the company and those who, voluntarily, without being concerned, wish to leave -, as well as a support and relocation plan which, in the case of people aged 50 will have the duration they need until their move.

In the opinion of the UGT, this agreement represents a reduction in the initial impact of the collective dismissal proposed by the company and improves “enough“the conditions for voluntary departure of H&M employees.
