Hochstein’s visit to Beirut: media revealed how Hezbollah reacted

Hezbollah terrorist leader Naim Kassem canceled his television appearance after a failure to reach an agreement on major differences between US envoy Amos Hochstein and Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

This was reported by the Al-Arabiya television channel.

Naim Kassem’s speech was postponed because “the results of the meeting did not meet (Hezbollah’s) expectations.” A Saudi media source said the key issue that remained unresolved was the “right to self-defense.”

This provision of the draft agreement refers to Israel’s right to intervene militarily if Hezbollah violates the treaty and the monitoring commission’s protests do not produce results.

As is known, despite the difficulties encountered, Amos Hochstein expressed his confidence in a successful outcome. Following negotiations with Berry, he noted that “there is a real prospect of ending the conflict” and that “this can be achieved in the coming days.”

Previously, Kursor wrote that the media revealed details of the ceasefire proposals that the United States conveyed to Lebanon and agreed to with Israel. The main condition of the agreement is the right of our country to military intervention if the proposed measures to stabilize the situation do not give the expected results.

Israel has made its position clear, stating that compliance with the proposed conditions is mandatory.

Furthermore, Cursor has already reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a Knesset meeting that even if a ceasefire agreement is reached with the Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah, Israeli military operations against this organization will continue.

He stressed that the main objective is not the agreement itself, but rather ensuring security in northern Israel.
