Hortensia Herrero Art Center begins school visits

He Hortensia Herrero Art Center of Valencia begins its program of visits and workshops aimed at educational centers this Friday. With the recent start of the school year, the Calle del Mar center has prepared and adapted different itineraries and experiences for different ages, including all academic levels, from kindergarten to high school and training cycles. The goal is for schoolchildren to discover this new culture from different angles and enjoy contemporary art with their classmates.

Educational centers will be able to choose between three types of visitalways with content adapted to the corresponding school level. In the dynamic visit, dynamics and activities are carried out during the visit that stimulate the creativity, curiosity and critical thinking of students. For its part, the workshop visit offers a unique experience which combines the visit to a specific space of the collection and the subsequent creation of a workshop adapted to the different courses, from the creation of a work of art to the texture exploration or video art production. With them, the participation of students is sought to explore contemporary art as a team.

In addition to these two types of visits, which benefit from the assistance and direction of a specialized team, the Hortensia Herrero Art Center offers the possibility for educational centers to carry out an independent visit. That is, teachers can request a visit to CAHH with their students with special conditions and with geducational guides to arrange your own visit.

Activities for all tastes and all ages

In addition to the special visits organized with the educational centers, the Hortensia Herrero Art Center also launched its activity cycle for all audiences and specialized visits. If until now it could be visited freely or with a guided tour, they will now adapt to different concerns to offer a different, fun and familiar experience.

An ideal museum

“An Ideal Museum” is a family activity that offers the opportunity to recreate your own version of the Hortensia Herrero Art Center in 3D using a cut-out reproduction. Guided by a mediator, the group explores and appreciates certain spaces in the center and reflects on its relationship with the artistic works. Finally, in a workshop, they assemble a model inspired by the CAHH using cut sheets and various materials. The goal is for each family to decide which works to place in their model. As a souvenir of this experience, participants take home their creations.
