Hostage agreement: the media revealed the reason for the postponement of negotiations

Negotiations on an agreement with Hamas terrorists for the release of hostages and a post-war settlement in Gaza have been postponed until next week. Representatives from Israel, Egypt, Qatar and the United States are scheduled to meet in Cairo early this week following next Tuesday’s US presidential election.

Arab media reported on this.

Consultations were held in Cairo between Egyptian and American representatives to discuss the subsequent negotiation process in the context of the upcoming presidential elections in the United States and the possible victory of Donald Trump.

As previously reported, countries involved in negotiations to release 101 hostages held by Hamas terrorists have told Israel that they will need a few more days to increase pressure on the militants. Despite the intense efforts of international mediators, senior Israeli officials involved in the negotiations are not optimistic about their success.

Earlier, Kursor wrote that Sami Abu Zohri, a top representative of the Hamas terrorist organization, said the organization responded to mediators’ requests to consider new conditions for a possible hostage deal. All partial agreements proposed during negotiations cannot be implemented.

Furthermore, Cursor already reported that in an interview on 103FM, Yaron Bloom, IDF Hostage and Missing Persons Coordinator and former senior Shin Bet official, expressed his opinion on the status of negotiations on the hostage release agreement.

He stressed that the lack of discussion about the future situation in Gaza could encourage Hamas to continue increasing its forces and strengthening its position.
