Hostage Talks: Media Uncovers What Trump Asked Netanyahu

US presidential candidate Donald Trump has called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to abandon a deal to free hostages and a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, fearing that successful negotiations could improve Kamala Harris’ chances of winning the presidential race.

This was reported by the American television company PBS.

This information comes amid reports from Axios that Trump and Netanyahu discussed the issue of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza on the phone. Both politicians, however, denied these claims. Trump, however, reiterated his position in a recent speech, calling on Israeli authorities to “put an end to this quickly” and criticizing demands for a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden told the Democratic National Convention that his administration was working hard to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza and end the fighting. The United States is working around the clock to achieve peace and security in the Middle East, Biden said, emphasizing the rights of protesters demanding an immediate ceasefire.

Negotiations to end hostilities and exchange hostages have been ongoing for several weeks. Although representatives of the US administration publicly say that the parties are closer to reaching an agreement, behind the scenes doubts and disappointment are growing due to the discrepancy between the statements of Hamas terrorists and real actions.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that negotiations on hostages and a truce in the Gaza Strip were again on the verge of failure.
