The Shiite Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement, which rules in northern Yemen, said it had shot down the eighth US MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance drone in northwestern Yemen since last fall. The drone was conducting reconnaissance over Marib province, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said on Al-Masirah television.
“A US MQ-9 drone was shot down while carrying out enemy missions in the skies of Marib province. This drone became the eighth aircraft of this type shot down during the battle and holy jihad in support of Gaza.” – Saria pointed out.
