The Cardinals Vatican Conclave will choose who will be the successor of Pope Francis on Wednesday, May 7.
In total, 133 cardinals will take part in this strict liturgy after the victims of the Spanish Antonio Canyazares and Kenyan John New are official.
Consequently, the candidate will require two -thirds of votes. In numbers, this means that 87 purples must be approved.
In addition to this aspect, at this ceremony it has not changed much over the decades, in which the cardinals, “guided by the Holy Spirit” and isolated from the world, will be locked in the Sistine Chapel to choose a new dad.
How the ceremony of Conclane will be held
All parties, from the prayers that prayed to the amount of voting that they celebrate every day to designate the new pontiff, make up the strict ceremonial of the conclave.
Dinner (Tuesday, May 6)
The tradition dictates that all cardinals will move during the day before the start of the conclave in the house of Santa Marts, the residence in the Vatican where Francisco lived, for dinner together. From the exact moment they will remain isolated from the world, completely unrelated to inclus.
Original Mass (Wednesday, May 7)
The next morning, the dean of the Cardinal College, Giovanni Battista, will celebrate the mass “Pro Choose Dad” open to all believers in the basilica of San Pedro.
The cardinal conclave will begin on this environment, May 7
Procession
In the afternoon, the cardinals will go to the procession to the Sistine Chapel, turning to the help of the Holy Spirit with the song of the creator of Veni.
“Additional omnes”
At the end of the oath in the Sistine chapel, the master of liturgical holidays Diego Ravelli proclaims “additional omnes” (everything outside), and the doors will close.
Only the cardinals remain inside. Then the first vote will be held, which may begin to indicate the course of choice.
Vote
The cardinals will vote twice in the morning (immediately after the “x”) and twice in the afternoon (out of 16 -local).
Currently, there are 133 voters, and two -thirds of the votes should be selected in the successor of Pedro.
Voting procedure
Teachers of ceremonies give at least two or three white ballots to each voter and leave the Sistine chapel. Each of the cardinals secretly fills the ballot, writing “clearly, with the letter as recognizable as possible, the name of the person who chooses.”
Then bend the ballot in half and, holding it highly and clearly visible, goes to the altar, next to which there are three checks.
The cardinal swears: “I urge Christ the Lord, who will judge me as a witness that my vote is given to someone according to God, I think that this should be chosen.” Place the ballot on the plate and slide it inside the bowl used as a ballot box. He leans in front of the altar and returns to his place.
At the end of the vote, the first Skripin throws several times out of the vote to mix the ballots, and the third screening passes the ballots, one after another, to the other bowl. If the number of ballots corresponds to the total number of voters, go to the calculation.
The requirements are sitting at the table located in front of the altar. The first check opens the card and reads the name. The second repeats the procedure. The third screon writes the name and reads it out loud, then dries the cards with a needle and connects them all with the thread.
The shrimp collects notes and writes an act with the result. All the papers are on the stove, with a chemical supplement, to change the color of “smoke”.
Prayers
During the conclave, the cardinals will celebrate the mass every day, and then move to the Sistine Chapel, where in 9 (local time) they will pray to “repayments”. After the second vote in the afternoon, voters will pray on the eve.
“Smoking”
Every two votes, ballots in which the cardinals wrote their candidate, burn in the stove in the Sistine Chapel. Then the smoke leaves a fireplace located on the roof, about 12 and 19 (local time).
Nevertheless, smoke can go to those hours that will mean that dad was chosen in the first vote of each shift.
After the choice is made, the white smoke will leave the fireplace, and at the same time, six bells of San Pedro will sound like a celebration sign.
“Hall of tears”
In the Rishop Sistine Chapel, the room is preparing with dresses of the new pontiff several sizes. This is the “Hall of Tears”, which is called this, because this is the place where the chosen ones saved the emotions that he held until that moment.
