Banning cell phones in school can improve children’s social life and creativity.
Oku.Az According to Healthday, scientists from the University of California, Los Angeles, reported this.
Scientists said that in the United States, children between the ages of 8 and 12 spend about six hours a day in front of a screen. However, many students use their phones during class or during breaks. This can harm children’s social lives and also prevent them from developing the boredom they need to be creative.
“If children spend time on their phones 24/7, it does not help them develop a sense of creativity, thinking and generating ideas,” the authors note.
False information on social media can increase anxiety and distress in a child. Without context, students may perceive the world as hostile.
The scientists advised schools to ban mobile phone use and parents to limit it to dinner or bedtime. In addition, more opportunities should be created for children to become interested in spending time without phones.
