How French politicians reacted to the liquidation of Nasrallah

The death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has sparked mixed opinions among French extremist parties.

Le Monde writes about this.

Thus, Marine Le Pen, head of the deputies of the National Rally, pointed out that Israel “dealt a hard blow to the terrorist movement responsible for the sovereignty crisis and the moral problems of the political class in Lebanon.” He also stressed that a ceasefire in Lebanon will not be effective without a serious political initiative, including the “dismantling” of Hezbollah.

Manuel Bompard, coordinator of the far-left Defiant France party, believes otherwise and maintains that Nasrallah’s murder is an “act of escalation.” He noted that Hezbollah will not disappear along with Nasrallah, as the movement emerged in response to Israeli aggression in Lebanon in 1982.

“So there will be no more Mr. Nasrallah, but there will be something different with other leaders,” he said.

Bompard also had the support of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the other side of the left-wing party. He said Netanyahu is violating the sovereignty of states in the region with the help of Europe and the United States, recalling the “genocide in Gaza.” Mélenchon called for an end to all trade agreements with Netanyahu’s government.

It was previously reported that Macron met with the Iranian president in New York and called for using Iranian influence to reduce tensions in Lebanon.

Cursor also wrote that in Paris, a court sentenced two women to pay 8,000 euros in compensation to France’s first lady, Brigitte Macron, for spreading false rumors about her transgender status.
