Ibrahim al-Moussawi, a Hezbollah parliamentarian, said the terrorist organization welcomes any effort to end the war in Lebanon.
This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
When asked how terrorists feel about Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections, he replied that the militants do not have much hope in the possibility of a ceasefire through the actions of the current US administration.
“It may be a change in the party that is in power, but when it comes to Israel, they have more or less the same policies. We want to see action, we want to see decisions made,” al-Moussawi said.
US diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah terrorists, including a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire, are understood to have failed last week. These efforts have been hampered by the pre-election situation in the United States, where former President Donald Trump has returned to the White House.
Previously, Cursor wrote that the United States is actively cooperating with Lebanese political parties, pursuing the goal of eliminating Hezbollah not only as a military organization, but also as a political actor. Its objective is to create a new political reality in the country, in which there will be no place for militants.
Furthermore, Cursor has already reported that, according to US officials cited in CNN reports, Israel rejected the US ceasefire initiative with Hezbollah two weeks ago, and the US is not taking steps to resume negotiations on this issue.
Instead, the US side focused on containing Israeli operations in Lebanon and against Iran, rather than a complete cessation of hostilities.
