Citizens can now register their marriages online through the “mygov” application. But how is the process done?
Citizens who are going to get married must first undergo a medical examination. 14 days after the exam, the blood test results are automatically uploaded to the “mygov” platform and users receive a notification to start applying for marriage registration. Then select the “Start a Family” option in the “Life Events” section of the “mygov” app or the “Marriage Registration” service in the “Services” section.
With this, after the system verifies the medical certificates of both parties, the registration screen will open with FIN and confirmation codes. One party continues the marriage registration application by sending the FIN and confirmation code to the other. You choose the surname that will be taken after marriage and the certificate delivery center confirms your information.
After 30 days, the citizen receives a notification about the change in the service status. When the status appears as “Completed”, you will need to pay a state fee of 10 AZN. When your certificate is ready, you can collect it at the collection center of your choice. After physically receiving the marriage certificate, citizens will be able to obtain this document in digital format in the “My family information” section of the “mygov” application.
