How Israel will respond to Iran: media reported on US assessment

Recently, relations between the White House and the Israeli government have deteriorated markedly. This comes as the United States awaits Israel’s response to the recent unprecedented missile attack carried out by Iran about a week ago.

This was reported by Axios.

According to American sources, the United States is not opposed to Israel responding to the attack, but hopes that the response will be “moderate.” One of the American representatives also stressed that at the moment the level of trust in Israel has decreased considerably and that there are good reasons for this.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is also reported to have expressed his “disappointment” when he learned from his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Galant, that Hezbollah terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah had been killed just minutes before the attack, while that the Israeli planes were already on their way to the target.

Austin perceived this as a breach of trust, as the late notification prevented the United States from preparing its forces in the region in time. Gallant explained that he acted on the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who prohibited informing the American side in advance.

Previously, Kursor wrote that, as The New York Times reported, Israel has no intention of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities, despite growing rumors about a possible attack in the near future. These speculations intensified after Iran carried out an unprecedented missile attack about a week ago.
