According to expert Dmitry Snegirev, it may take from six months to a year to expel the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Russian Kursk region. He noted that although the Russian army is trying to fight back, its own engineering and fortification structures, built earlier in the region, create serious obstacles.

Snegirev said that the implementation of the most optimistic scenarios could take at least six months. However, most observers believe that the operation will last about a year, provided that the Russian command is able to redeploy the necessary number of combat-ready units. For this purpose, troops are being transferred both from other sectors of the front in Ukraine and from the rear regions of the Russian Federation, including the Kaliningrad region.
The expert added that the complexity of the situation for the Russian army is aggravated by the maneuverable tactics of the Ukrainian forces, which carry out both defensive and offensive operations in the Kursk region. In addition, the landscape of the region, represented by forests, complicates the actions of the Russian troops and reduces their ability to ensure logistics.
In addition, according to Snegirev, Ukrainian troops are conducting successful operations behind the Russian group, especially in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts, which makes it even more difficult for Russia to overthrow the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
