There are only a few days left until the New Year. There will be some days off due to holidays. In this sense, there will be many people who take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate the holiday. Normally, on the eve of the holiday, Azerbaijani citizens think about where and at what price to welcome the New Year. Many people go to the regions to welcome the new year. Furthermore, there are people who want to welcome the New Year in the liberated lands.
I wonder how much it will cost for people to ring in the new year in Karabakh.
Moderator.az investigated this topic. It turned out that festive events are organized in many hotels in Karabakh.
On New Year’s Day a program will be organized at the “Kharibulbul” hotel in Shusha:
“Our rooms are designed for two people as standard, but one person can stay in such a room. One person’s overnight stay in such a room, including breakfast, costs 200 manats. For two people, it is already 240 manats. We are talking one day. There are no other services at the hotel for now. There will be no changes for the New Year party,” the hotel said.
Two people who want to celebrate the New Year at the hotel of the same name operating in Shusha must spend 1900 AZN for two nights and three days:
“There will be two different concerts. Popular artist Mansum Ibrahimov, singers Ayaz Gasimov, Nigar Pashayeva, Turan Safarli and Kamala Aliyeva will perform on stage. The event will be hosted by DJ Gugu and Kamran Yaradanguliyev. The New Year event is organized by the “Janaz” and “Baku events” groups. “The portal problem will be solved by the hotel employees,” the report reads.
Popular artist Mansum Ibrahimov will welcome the festive evening at the “Shusha” hotel:
“We have been waiting for these days for 30 years. We are grateful for today that we are already celebrating great events in Karabakh. I hope that this year we will celebrate the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis of the World and the New Year party in our cultural capital. Shusha. I will perform with my mugam group “Karabakh”. All who wish are invited,” he said.
Prices start from 190 AZN at the “Palace” hotel operating in Khankendi.
The price of our rooms in the “Palace” hotel is 190 manats. This is for two people. There will be live music in the new year. There is no gas in Khankendi, so the swimming pools do not work. “Once gas is available, pool service will be included in this price,” the hotel said.
Another hotel located in Khankendi, “Karabagh”, has higher prices:
The rooms of the hotel “Karabakh” are spacious. Therefore, prices start from 240 manats for two people. Breakfast and gym are included. There are restaurants for three meals. This is not included in the price, but is considered an additional order.”
Tourism expert Rahman Guliyev said that hotel prices in Karabakh are more expensive than in other regions:
“As every year, New Year’s parties and shows are held in traditional hotels in the capital and our regions. Ready-made tour packages are offered. These tour packages include accommodation for 3 days and 2 nights, breakfast and at the same time , a New Year’s Show at the hotel – includes dinner in the program.
For several years now, festive events have been organized in the hotels operating in Shusha. If we look at other regions in our regions, prices in Shusha are a little higher. This is due to the personnel housed there, the difficult terrain and the distance. Therefore, an increase in prices is observed. The artists who will participate in the show program will have to travel a long way to Shusha and stay there. This causes the price of that tourist package to increase.
Compared to other days, during holidays hotels are crowded in all regions of Azerbaijan. In which hotel the show program is held, those hotels are preferred. Generally, this is also due to demand. In accordance with the hotels’ commercial policy, standard and economy rooms are sold first. Tourists who come to Azerbaijan also go to mountainous areas. In the near future, the work schedule of hotels operating in Shusha will be organized in other regions: Lachin, Zangilan, Kalbajar, Gubadli and other territories liberated from occupation. As infrastructure is restored, as people move to their ancestral homes, the creation of such complexes and new workplaces will create the need for an influx of tourists there. At the same time, let such celebrations take place. Opening more such places will lead to healthy competition.”
Expert economist Khalid Karimli explained the reason for the high hotel prices in Karabakh:
“The reason for the high prices in Karabakh is due to restrictions. In Shusha, Khankendi, work has a romantic side. There is a nostalgic feeling of the past. The cost of organizing an event in Shusha and Khankendi is more than the cost of organize an event in Baku It is more expensive to organize shows in Shusha and Khankendi than in the capital.” .
