The second advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the Kursk region was made possible by a number of factors, the most important of which were daily attacks on enemy positions.
This was announced by Alexander Musienko, head of the Military Legal Research Center, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
The expert stressed that the so-called siege of the enemy group, which stretched from Tetkino to the western regions of Kornevo, played an important role.
Russian troops tried to transport reinforcements and use pontoons to reinforce their positions, but the situation remained tense. In this regard, the command decided to carry out a rescue operation to expel the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Musienko noted that the Ukrainian forces temporarily abandoned some positions, but soon launched an unexpected counterattack against the enemy in another direction.
According to the expert, a successful attack in the Vesely area was made possible not only by the enemy’s offensive from the Kornevo area. Musienko noted that Ukrainian forces had been weakening Russian positions in this area for a long time, launching regular attacks and preparing the way for a subsequent counterattack.
Earlier, Kursor reported that Russian soldiers were surrounded in the Kursk region.
Russian troops are still blocked in one of the settlements in the region and the situation is worsening.
Kursor also wrote that Ukraine invited the UN and the Red Cross to visit the Kursk region, and Putin responded.
Putin’s spokesman called Ukraine’s move a “provocation.”
