“Due to traffic restrictions imposed on the city’s main streets and avenues due to the COP29 conference held in Baku, passengers are advised to use alternative routes and public transport to reach the airport on time and comfortably.”
Oku.Az informs that the press service of Heydar Aliyev International Airport has published information in this regard.
It was reported that drivers coming from the city center to the airport can use the Zigh Highway, while those coming from Bilgah and Mashtaga can go to the Zigh Highway via Mardakan and Shuvelan.
During COP29, express buses H1 and H2 will operate continuously to facilitate the arrival of passengers at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The H1 bus leaves from the “May 28” bus station every 10 minutes and the H2 bus leaves from the “Ahmadli” bus station every 15 minutes. It should be noted that until November 14, tickets on these public transport vehicles are free.
Passengers are recommended to be at the airport at least 3 hours before departure, taking into account possible traffic restrictions.
It should be noted that the parking area in front of Baku Airport is reserved for special vehicles until November 14, so private cars cannot park here. Only passengers can be picked up and dropped off. Furthermore, only passengers with flight tickets can access Terminal-1 and Terminal-2. People dropping off and picking up passengers are asked not to come to the airport.
