“Brake pads on new passenger cars can fail after just five thousand kilometres due to aggressive driving.”
Oku.AzAccording to Gazeta.ru, Russian automobile expert Pavel Konstantinov has warned about this.
“The brake pads can burn out in five thousand kilometers with intensive braking, or they can be used for more than 100 thousand kilometers during long highway trips. Typically, the front brake pads last 15-30 thousand kilometers. Rear brake pads work longer,” Konstantinov said.
According to him, wear sensors can indicate the need to replace brake pads.
“If there are no such devices, it is necessary to check the condition of the moulds from time to time. This is often combined with tyre replacement work in spring and autumn. If a creaking or grinding sound is heard during braking, it is necessary to go to a service station to avoid damaging the brake discs,” the expert adds.
The expert pointed out that using non-original moulds can cause hissing or crackling noises, as cheaper materials are used in their production.
“However, this does not affect the effectiveness of braking,” the expert explained.
