The Generalitat Valenciana approves the allocation of 200 million euros in direct aid to those affected and 50 million euros to affected municipalities to rebuild infrastructure.

The aid for those affected, already announced by Carlos Mazón last week, amounts to 6,000 euros per household. People whose housing suffered damage following the storm, and is located within the affected municipal limits, can apply for the subsidy from the date of publication of the decree until December 16, 2024. Please note that the aid is compatible with other aid that may be granted by other public administrations, reports the Generalitat in a press release. The Consell asked the central government for a reinforcement of 31.4 billion euros, the equivalent of a full annual budget for this community.

The applicant must provide the legal title which allows him to use the accommodation or a document with probative value of residence in the accommodation concerned; declaration responsible for the exact address of the home concerned, as well as a declaration of conformity with the regulatory bases, as well as supporting documents for direct debit. The request for assistance can also be submitted by attaching a certificate from the town hall of the municipality where the accommodation is located.

The documentation, duly completed and signed, must be presented to the post-emergency coordination offices created by the Generalitat, for this purpose, or, where appropriate, to the offices authorized by the Generalitat, preferably that of the city where the the house is located. Likewise, they can be presented electronically on the portal of the Generalitat.

Aid to municipalities

The second decree approved by the Consell was the granting of direct aid to municipalities for damage to properties and infrastructure caused by the storm.

The economic line will be 50,000,000 euros, of which 20,000,000 euros will be included in the budget of the Generalitat for the year 2024, and the remaining 30,000,000 euros, in the budget of the Generalitat for the year 2025.

The budget item is intended to cover urgent and extraordinary expenses, both current and personnel, which must have already been incurred to cover expenses derived from actions which cannot be deferred in the event of an emergency, carried out at the time the emergency occurs. emergency or immediately. . after the occurrence of the causal events, provided that its objective is the operation of essential and indispensable public services to guarantee the life and safety of people.

Payment of the sums granted to the municipalities will be made by issuing the minimum initial amount of 200,000 euros for each of the municipalities affected by the storm.

The management of this aid will be channeled through the Interdepartmental Post-Emergency Monitoring and Coordination Commission and the Single Post-Emergency Office, for the monitoring and coordination of actions after a disaster or emergency, as provided for by law. 13/2010. , of November 23, of Civil Protection and Emergency Management of the Valencian Community.
