Israel has rejected accusations made by Human Rights Watch (HRW) that it forcibly resettles Gazans and that the IDF’s actions in the more than year-long conflict amount to “crimes against humanity.”
On November 14, a New York-based human rights organization released a report claiming to have collected evidence of alleged war crimes related to forced relocation by Israeli authorities.
“Statements by senior officials with command authority show that the forced transfer is deliberate and part of Israeli public policy and therefore constitutes a crime against humanity,” the statement said.
For his part, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Oren Marmorstein accused HRW of its controversial position.
“Time and time again, Human Rights Watch’s rhetoric about Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip turns out to be completely false and far from reality. Contrary to the HRW report’s claims, Israeli efforts are aimed solely at eliminating Hamas’ terrorist potential. not to the people of Gaza,” Marmorstein said.
The report also states that Hamas terrorists “place their combat positions and infrastructure in densely populated areas, using civilians as human shields.”
Previously, Cursor wrote that the UN report accusing Israel of genocide of Palestinian Arabs in Gaza received strong condemnation from the United States. State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel disagreed with the committee’s assessments and stressed that such accusations are baseless and do not correspond to the real humanitarian situation in the region.
