Huesca Mayor Lorena Orduna Proposes to Increase Her Salary by More Than 20%

The Huesca City Council has started the procedure to approve a salary increase of more than 20% for the mayor, Lorena Orduna. The PP carried out the proposal with its own votes, the abstention of Vox and the rejection of the PSOEalthough since the formation of Santiago Abascal, they have already announced that they will also be against it in the plenary session next Tuesday.

With this proposal, Orduna would go from 50,000 euros to 62,500 euros, although this depends on the favorable vote of the non-attached councilor, Antonio Laborda. The Huesca City Council is made up of 11 councilors from the PP, 10 from the PSOE, 2 from Vox and Laborda, who left Vox a few months after the start of the legislature and are part of the mixed group. Therefore, The mayor needs support to carry out her measures.

This salary increase is part of a package of measures that the PP has presented to the Personnel Commission and which, if not withdrawn before, will be voted on at the next plenary session. This also includes an increase in the number of councillors who would devote themselves full-time to the three parties, based on representation..

Despite the abstention in the Commission this Thursday, Vox confirmed to EL ESPAÑOL that they will vote against in plenaryBecause, they say, “we cannot allow salaries to be increased in a scandalous manner.”
