The diplomat briefly reviewed the state-building process in the first years of Azerbaijan’s independence:
“It should never be forgotten that the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan, which is the first democratic state in the Turkish and Islamic world, treats all citizens with equal rights and without any discrimination. The APC, which lived only 23 months, was invaded in April 1920. On October 18, 1991, Azerbaijan regained its independence and managed to occupy a worthy place among the states of the world.
The great leader Heydar Aliyev, who came to power on June 15, 1993, worked hard to build the state and end the occupation in Karabakh. One of the main activities of the great leader was to strengthen relations with other brother countries, especially Türkiye. “Despite all the difficulties and obstacles, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is one of the most magnificent examples of this.”
Hulusi Kılıç stressed that Azerbaijan is the first country to restore its territorial integrity in the 21st century.
