Humanitarian crisis in Gaza: Miller makes statement

Israel has taken a number of initiatives aimed at easing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. According to US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, these measures were taken after the Biden administration sent a warning letter to Israeli authorities.

According to him, on October 16, 50 trucks with humanitarian aid were sent from Jordan to the north of the Gaza Strip, and another 30 vehicles arrived the day before. Israel has also reopened the Erez crossing and opened a new route connecting the southern part of the enclave with the north.

He noted that our country has taken steps to approve the construction of new warehouses and other intermediate points that will help humanitarian organizations improve supply logistics.

“We have an obligation to provide Israel with a qualitative military advantage. We have an obligation to continue to comply with the Memorandum of Understanding. We also have an obligation to ensure that Israel complies with all elements of American law,” Miller said.

Previously, Cursor wrote that US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Washington supports limited IDF ground operations in Lebanon. At the same time, he emphasized that the United States opposes its expansion into deeper areas of the country and the Israeli military presence becoming a long-term presence, as was the case in previous years.

In addition, Cursor has already reported that Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department, stated that Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin sent a warning to the Israeli government this week. The letter emphasizes that the security future of US aid will be in doubt if significant steps are not taken within 30 days to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
