Raquel, the woman who disappeared on August 30 in Villalbilla (Madrid), died in the basement of her house where she was praying with her partner, also a Hare Krishna sympathizer. As OKDIARIO learned on Sunday, September 8, the Civil Guard found her body surrounded by pill boxes and the preliminary autopsy report indicates a massive ingestion of medication without any trace of violence on the body.
Raquel’s husband had reported her missing on August 4. He later said that the woman had gone to her mother’s house, in the municipality of Griñón, and that since then nothing had been known about her. However, the husband’s confused statement made him a suspect and just two days later, the Civil Guard found the 54-year-old woman’s car four blocks from her home, the Villalbilla villa. The guards returned to the house but the husband voluntarily did not let them in to inspect it.
After continuing the investigation and discovering that all the evidence pointed to Raquel being at home, the guards returned with a search warrant and arrested Raquel’s husband after he tried to escape. With the help of the dogs from the Cynological Service, they soon went down to the basement and found the body of the deceased.
Husband faked phone call
The investigation by the Civil Guard command revealed that Raquel suffered from acute depression and had made two suicide attempts. The autopsy report carried out on Tuesday 10, two days after the discovery of the body and the arrest of the victim’s husband, revealed that the body did not show any signs of violence, but investigators want to know if Raquel’s husband participated in the ingestion of medication that caused her death.
The husband refused to testify before the Civil Guard and will soon be brought to justice. In the meantime, he is being held in connection with the disappearance and death of his wife;
