I can never be happy about someone’s death.

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in an interview with French media, spoke about the liquidation of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

The Telegram channel “Today in Israel” writes about this.

He noted that although he cannot rejoice in anyone’s death, he understands and supports Israel’s right to self-defense in the conditions in which the country is under attack.

“I can never be happy about someone’s death. But Israel was attacked. “This is the tragedy of October 7, in which Hamas is to blame and Hezbollah’s actions caused a massive displacement of the population of northern Israel,” Sarkozy said.

Sarkozy stressed that the tragic events of October 7, caused by the Hamas attack, and the actions of Hezbollah, which caused the mass displacement of people from northern Israel, require a decisive response.

According to Sarkozy, if France found itself in a similar situation, it would also be forced to defend itself. He expressed the view that Israel not only has the right to protection, but also the obligation to stand firm without succumbing to pressure.

Israel must live with dignity, defending its independence, and in this Sarkozy supports the country’s actions, considering them justified.

Previously, Kursor reported how the liquidation of Hezbollah’s top leaders would affect the group.

Hezbollah terrorists faced serious difficulties after the elimination of Nasrallah and other high-ranking terrorists.

“Cursor” also wrote about how French politicians reacted to Nasrallah’s liquidation.

Personalities from different sides of the “political compass” did not agree on this historic event.
