“We sent weapons to NATO, and NATO carries the cost of weapons by 100%,” Trump said in an interview with NBC News. “So, what we are doing, the weapon sent will be transferred to NATO, and then NATO will give weapons (to Ukraine), and NATO will incur expenses.”

Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said on Friday that several American weapons requested by Ukraine were used by NATO allies in Europe. This weapon can be transferred to Ukraine when European countries buy a replacement in the United States, he said.

“For example, it is much faster to move, for example, from Germany to Ukraine than to order it in a factory (USA) and send it there,” Rubio told reporters during a visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ukraine really needs more US air defense systems to stop Russian ballistic missiles and cruises. The Trump government went back and forth to discuss more important military assistance to Ukraine more than three years after the invasion of Russia.
