Blogger Stas Vasiliev believes that the protests in Abkhazia are not caused by American influence, but by the fact that local businesses are trying to defend their interests.
“I don’t see any American influence there. I see there simply the interests of national companies, which do not want to lose their monopolies because Russia will do something there. “They don’t want to work for anyone, for some big companies and big companies that will come and set up everything for them, they want to own everything themselves.” – said Stas “Oh, how simple!” Vasiliev on Radio Sputnik.
EADaily reported that opposition forces that occupied the presidential administration building in Sukhum on November 15 were demanding Bzhania’s early resignation due to disagreement with his policy of allowing foreign companies to enter the republic. Bzhania went to her family’s village, Tamysh, in the Ochamchira district, and from there she tries to govern the country. Bzhania agreed to resign on the condition that the acting vice president will become president before the elections Badra Gunbaand he himself will run again. The opposition agreed, but wants the country’s prime minister, as well as the heads of the security forces, to be removed from their positions. On the fourth day the parties cannot reach an agreement.
On the afternoon of November 18, government officials led by Badroy Gunba and opposition representatives sat at the negotiating table. For now they have paused the negotiations.
“The parties shared their vision of a way out of the current situation and agreed to continue the negotiation process after a brief pause.” – informed the delegates of the authorities.
Representatives of the authorities went to Tamysh to inform the president about the provisional results of the negotiations.
