“I hope that sooner rather than later we can hold hands and move forward.”

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos MazonHa defended This Wednesday, the provincial health campus that he proposes for Alicante and he stressed that he hopes that “as soon as possible we can all hold hands and move forward.”

This is how he responded to the media in Monforte del Cid (Alicante), where he attended the opening ceremony of the Vinalopó Embolsada table grape designation of origin campaign, questioned about the criticisms of Compromís and the PSPV on this proposal that he launched after the Generalitat withdrew from the judicial process which was initiated by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) on the teaching of the medical degree at the University of Alicante (UA).

Mazón’s goal is to create a “large provincial health campus” in which two universities Alicante “can add“, as he explained at the time. The “president” reiterated this Wednesday that “working with economies of scale is always positive” and “aspiring to have a European provincial reference in health” as well.

In this sense, he added that “all economic, social, university and academic agents, with the exception of the silence of the University of Alicante, indicate that it is convenient for us to work on this position, opening our hands to everyone.” “And I hope that, as soon as possible, we can all hold hands and move forward,” he said.

According to him, “as always” Commitments And PSPV “They keep saying ‘No“to what they do not know, as with the budgets, but they also continue to say ‘no’ to an autonomous water table in the Valencian Community. Something surprising when everyone is in favour of us starting it. Everyone will say what they want to say, but we think that the AU deserves the best and that the sum multiplies”, he defended.

Regarding the question of whether this campus has begun to take measures, he explained that what has begun is “to unite the wills”, “to put on the table a will to unite” and to receive the support of business entities like the Chamber, the CEV, INECA, the Medical Union, the College of Physicians or the Miguel Hernández University itself. “I think we are going in that direction and that is how it is,” he concluded.
