I miss Milei

For some time now, the X account “Arrepentidos de Milei” has become one of my favorites on the social network. Although he now shares all kinds of content opposed to the Argentine president, his first messages were a photograph of disappointment; Milei’s new voters were confronted with the consequences of their policies: rising fuel prices, energy prices, shopping lists, rents, inflation; a strange procession of libertarian geeks cheering chaos in the streets.

Since the Argentine elections, part of me has enjoyed seeing how every neoliberal theory, formula or theorem put into practice has failed miserably, often forgetting that in reality, these formulas work perfectly to make a handful of rich people soulless. They say that he who prefers to be right is wrong and there is a lot of that in my attitude, thus far, regarding the Milei issue. It’s obviously funny how these same people who believed that the increase in gasoline was going to make them rich – in a crazy, mystical way – found themselves very angry about the increase in gasoline , but sometimes we forget, just as there are repentant people, there are those who knew what was going to happen and could do nothing.
