According to Europa Press, the general director of Ryanair Group, Michael O’Li, said on Tuesday that the company’s intention was not to enrich himself with a collection of suitcases and that his goal is to force passengers to fly with the slightest baggage.

“I don’t want any money from my suitcases. I prefer that passengers fly without suitcases, ”he said during a meeting with journalists at the headquarters of the airline in Dublin (Ireland), claiming that with a smaller number of suitcases, the cost of operating the flight below, which is transferred to cheaper tickets.

Ryanair participated in the dispute over the past year, after the Ministry of Consumption imposed a fine of 107 million euros for the alleged “insulting” practice, including gathering baggage.

“In the end, if you look at the fact that last year we are loading 60 million passengers in Spain, we will get great support in Spain,” the manager said, in turn, saying that he has no doubt that they would be “winners” in the long run in the struggle for this.

In his defense, he indicated that the transportation of suitcases in the Kayuna “costs money”. “We have people who are accustomed to putting bags on the plane, the plane weighs more and consumes more fuel,” he emphasized to justify the collection for this service.

Thus, he believes that the collection for this “additional” service, which “does not strive anymore than operational efficiency,” is necessary to continue maintaining his low rates.
