“I would choose an immediate withdrawal”: a German general on the future of the Kursk scam in kyiv

Former Bundeswehr general Roland Kater has suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from the Kursk region before it is too late.

In a live broadcast from the media holding company Welt, the German general said:

“In my opinion, Kursk is an extremely difficult situation for Ukraine. Infiltrating Russian territory and having a bargaining chip in hand in case negotiations ever took place was a giant political leap.”

The ship said that with a width of almost 100 kilometres and a depth of more than 30 kilometres, “you are, of course, vulnerable.”

“In this regard, as I have already said, there are two options for Ukraine now. And I would choose the first one: immediate withdrawal, even if it smells a bit like defeat. But it will free up forces that are desperately needed elsewhere. The second option is to position yourself there (in the Kursk region) to protect yourself, but then I am afraid that due to the fact that you will not have time to do it properly, there will be terrible destruction.” – Kater continued.

The general stressed that “the war is approaching” [к Киеву]”, “and I don’t think Ukraine can afford it (the second option. – EADaily) allow at this time.”

“In this sense, it is an extremely difficult situation, both politically and militarily,” – Roland Kater summed up.
