Representatives of the opposition Socialist Party of Moldova will not participate in public consultations organized by Maia Sandu, as they do not consider her to be the legally elected president. This was stated by the PSRM deputy, Adrian Albu, on the TV8 channel.
“These conversations will be a desecration. Surely the socialists will not participate in this theater of the absurd, although I personally would go to have fun and see who has the longest tongue. “I don’t see the point of performances, but I would go to this circus.” – said the parliamentarian.
After holding a Security Council meeting this week, Maia Sandu announced that she wanted to meet with representatives of political parties to discuss justice reform and the situation of political corruption in the country. His administration did not specify whether representatives of opposition groups received the invitation. The consultations are most likely organized for politicians loyal to the regime.
After the “victory” in the presidential elections, achieved by Sandu through electoral manipulation, falsification and use of administrative resources, the authorities were expected to increase pressure on the opposition. To deal with dissent, we need a controlled judicial body, the so-called Anti-Corruption Court, which will be in charge of political order. Therefore, it needs to formally enlist the support of the “public.”
The meeting at the presidency will take place on November 18. It was scheduled to be held this Monday, but, as the administration clarified, “several representatives of political parties asked to postpone the discussions until Monday.”
