“I would love to go beat him up, but now is not the time.”

Álvaro Romillo, better known as “Luis de CryptoSpain” due to the name of his YouTube channel, makes his first appearance after confessing to illegally financing Se Acabó La Fiesta (SALF) MEP Alvise Pérez. The cryptocurrency entrepreneur, accused of being a “scammer,” responded to the accused with a video.

“I would love to go out and beat him up, but now is not the time,” he reveals to his supporters, justifying that anything he can say before entering court could be used against both him and in favor of Alvise. He also apologizes “to the victims of Madeira Investment Club [MIC]”, the company with which he managed his client portfolio.

The company, now closed, based its activity on the publishing of works of art and digital luxury products (NFT) which members could purchase with cash, bank transfer or cryptocurrency. In 2023, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) defined this entire business network as a “financial beach bar” and warned that the entity was not authorized to engage in investment activities.

“Before there were complaints […] I went to the prosecutor’s office and provided information about myself, about Madeira Invest Club and everything that was happening. It’s a bigger plot than you can imagine.“says the businessman who, through his lawyers, Francisco Miranda and Silvia Hevia, of the Vox Legis Abogados firm, offers to collaborate fully with Justice.

It was Romillo himself who filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office on September 19 in a letter in which he detailed the facts concerning Alvise. In addition, he sent telephone conversations and audio messages to the Public Prosecutor’s Office as proof of his relationship with the MEP, to which elDiario.es had access.
