Senior Hezbollah member Ibrahim Qubeisi has been killed during Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces said.
“On September 24, 2024, the Israeli Air Force attacked the Dahiya district in Beirut and eliminated… Ibrahim Muhammad Qubeisi, the head of the missile forces of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, – says the message.
According to the IDF, Qubeisi was killed along with other commanders of Hezbollah’s rocket forces.
This was confirmed by Hezbollah’s press service.
“It is with great honour and sadness that we announce the passing away of Commander Ibrahim Mohamad Qubeisi,” – written in the statement.
According to the IDF, Qubeisi joined Hezbollah in the 1980s. During his service, he served, among other things, as a senior officer in the group’s operational unit in southern Lebanon and also commanded the Badr unit in Hezbollah’s Southern Front.
On Tuesday, Israeli aircraft attacked a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, killing six people and wounding 15.
